Terms of use

These terms are the rules for using Geosize, the daily geography game at geosize.app. Geosize is run by Harrison Enyeart, an individual based in North Carolina, USA (“Geosize”, “we” or “us”). By playing or using Geosize, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

The game

Geosize is free to play. Each day has a new puzzle that's the same for everyone, and practice games are unlimited. We may change, add or remove features, and the game may sometimes be unavailable. We'll try to keep your games and streaks safe, but we can't promise the game will always be available or free of errors.

Who can play

Anyone can play without an account. To create an account you must be at least 13 years old, and if you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.

Accounts

Accounts are optional and use Sign in with Google. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure. You can delete your Geosize account at any time from Your stats. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms.

Fair play

When you use Geosize, please don't:

• try to get into other players' accounts or data, or into parts of Geosize that aren't meant to be public
• interfere with or overload the game, or test its security without our written permission
• use bots or scripts to play, or to collect data from the site in bulk
• copy Geosize, or make an app or site that pretends to be it
• use Geosize for anything illegal or harmful

Found a security problem? Please tell us privately at hello@geosize.app instead of testing it further.

Maps and accuracy

Geosize is a game, made for fun and learning. Country shapes are simplified from Natural Earth data, and sizes and areas are approximate. Don't rely on them for navigation, legal, academic or professional purposes. The borders and names Geosize shows don't express any position on the status of any country, territory or boundary.

Sharing your results

You're welcome to share your results, screenshots and videos of you playing Geosize, including on social media. Please don't present Geosize as your own, or suggest that we endorse you.

Who owns what

Geosize's name, logo, design, code and puzzles belong to us. We give you permission to use Geosize for your own personal, non-commercial play, as long as you follow these terms. Map data from Natural Earth is in the public domain, and Geosize's fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License; see the About page for full credits.

Other services

Signing in uses Google, and Geosize relies on other providers to run, as described in the Privacy policy. Their own terms apply to your use of their services.

Privacy

The Privacy policy explains what information Geosize collects and how it's used.

No warranty

Geosize is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it, express or implied, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, secure or fit for a particular purpose.

Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Geosize. Our total liability for any claim about Geosize is limited to US$100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Stopping

You can stop using Geosize at any time, and delete your account whenever you like. We may stop offering Geosize, or suspend your access if you break these terms. If we shut Geosize down, we'll try to give notice on the site first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we do, the date at the top will change, and for significant changes we'll post a notice on the site. If you keep using Geosize after a change, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, and any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts located in North Carolina. If you live in the EU, the UK or another country whose laws protect consumers, you also keep the protections of your local law, and nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights as a consumer.
